re-allow "delete" icon to be active for next item down after a delete
It used to work that way. Now you need to "wiggle" the mouse to re-activate "delete" after it scrolls down after deleting an email. Was more convenient that way since once you'd highlit delete subsequent deletes automatically popped up. Now you need to wiggle the mouse each time.

Block spam option disappeared
what happened to the ability to block spam addresses? It disappeared and as bad as your filtering has gotten in the past couple of months, it'd be nice to be able to block some of this stuff. IMPROVE YOUR SPAM FILTERS!!!!

no ads in my email
Keep ads off to the side, don't make them look like my own email. Geez that's horrible.

Deselect selected messages with up/down arrow keys
With the old mail a feature I used all the time was selecting multiple messages then marking them as read. After I could click up or down arrow on the keyboard to deselect them. I now have to use my mouse to click the select all box twice to deselect all. Implementing this in the new version would be a huge time saver

Ditch AI
I need an option to turn off AI slop. I don't need, it's wrong 98% of the time. It's less than useless. Get rid of it.

Improvement Idea
I want to share my feedback on the recent Yahoo Mail update. Removing the basic layout option has been frustrating and difficult for me to process and navigate. As a long-time user, I relied on a simpler view that was easy to manage, reliable, and predictable. I strongly request that Yahoo bring back the accessible, low-clutter viewing option for users who prefer a more streamlined interface.

Yahoo Identity and Legacy
Yahoo, you must find your own path and never forget that, over the years, we have remained in the same boat together - through both sunny and stormy days - and that we have always found a way. We all go through changes in life, but it is essential not to lose our identity by becoming a mere copy of our competitors, just for the sake of short-term gratification. A truly timeless brand inspires confidence through its classic interface that we alll loved, rather than obscuring it behind transient clutter.

You did an excellent job!
I first came here to complain of the new look, but then saw your TIPS section. You were able to provide the new features and look for the younger generation and still give the rest of us the ability to mostly keep it looking like it used to. Bravo, and thank you!

Give us a way to turn off the "streaks" and "achievements", etc. It's annoying!

Make multiple inboxes viewable onscreen at once
Seeing all my linked inboxes in the top left made it much easier to see which ones had unread emails to attend to and made it much more convenient to swap between them. I would love to have some semblance of this feature again

Calendar
it's not handy as before, when you took calendar away from email sight. Do not call it improve, please check feedback of users, no one like this version.

Allow for simple visual customization.
The new layout is awful. Font choice is hard to read. There is so much whitespace I can only see like 5 messages in the Inbox list and there is no option to adjust spacing/density like the old version.
PLEASE BRING BACK THE MORE FUNCTION PRIMARY-TEXTUAL UI THAT ALSO ALLOWED FOR VISUAL CUSTOMIZATION.
The UI is so bad I DREAD having to check my email.

Missing functions the old layout had
I need to take screen shots as a record of certain emails received and sent. Some emails include multiple email addresses in both the top line and cc line. The new layout hides these. If I click to expand the top line they are visible but when I click the cc line the top line closes, and vice versa. How do I display ALL email addresses clearly?
Some emails I receive extend off behind the vertical add banner and I am unable to read them or screen capture them. How do I read and take a screenshot of the whole…

where is the counter
for all the years that I have used Yahoo mail there was always a number shown for how many new or unread were in the inbox. also was the blue ball by each unread.
you say you keep improving so why does it seem to me liked you keep degrading?
I really haven't liked yahoo mail since the emails stopped scrolling under the header and I had to go back to the top to delete anything. what was wrong with it then? when was that? 3 years ago? let's go back to that.

How do I compose a letter?
Before things were "improved," composing a letter was very simple - you clicked on "Compose." Now that is gone. So what do I do in order to send someone an email?

Make highlights more highlighted
The new mail looks fine except for one thing. In dark mode (I'm assuming anyway, but that is DEFINITELY something I need) the highlights between read and unread messages are not there. Instead, I need to rely just on the text being bold or not, and that makes it VERY difficult to scan through and quickly see which messages I have or have not read. Could it be a bit more clear?

When will you produce a mobile calendar?
Instead of wasting your time and resources on making totally unnecessary changes to mail you should produce a mobile calendar. You are the only ones that don't have one, which is ridiculous in this day and age.
