Eliminate Consolation Round. If you miss the playoffs you should be eliminated from making moves and stealing players from real winners.
Eliminate Consolation Round. If you miss the playoffs you should be eliminated from making moves and stealing players from real winners. Some managers can help other managers by taking a player that can benefit their friend in the playoffs and hurt the integrity of the game. And quite honestly, after playing a full season and not making the Playoffs, why would I or should I keep playing? It doesn't make sense.

I'm in a cash league with $450 on the line and some guy is adding and dropping players to try to win 7th place. Especially in cash leagues, eliminated teams should be locked. I set the setting before the season to lock teams, but apparently you can't do that to anybody at any time.
There is no reason for a consolation bracket. The orioles and royals aren't going to be playing any games in October any time soon, why allow eliminated teams to affect the playoffs in fantasy

and to DHB's point, 100%. The consolation bracket has 1-2 teams playing in it anyways. They're playing against inactive teams!

Seriously, when are they going to dump this stupid thing? Losing teams impacting the championship is BS

Absolutely agree 1000000%. In private leagues or non-money leagues fine. but in yahoo pro cash leagues, there is no reason to have any teams no-longer competing for $ be able to make any roster changes.

I agree wholeheartedly. If you are in a Private League or a Free league, then by all means, keep the consolation bracket, but in the Yahoo Pro leagues where a lot of $ is on the line, you can't have the competitive balance of the remaining playoff teams thrown off because some dude in 11th place exercises his waiver priority to add an important player.
Just like if you were the commissioner of a league and you saw a player who was eliminated from contention making adds and drops, you would lock them to avoid collusion and other issues that come along with teams that have nothing to play for making moves.
Imagine if a guy is in 10th place in a $250 yahoo league and decides, well I want to at least try to win the consolation bracket. And in his first round match decides to go all in on power and drops moderate steals guys like elvis andrus or dee gordon in favor of guys like Scott Schebler, while his logic makes sense for his team, now he has dropped a potentially playoff altering player. And although hes not blatantly dropping first round players, those are the kind of moves that do NOT add value to the experience for any of the other players competing for actual prizes.

Agree with the tool to lock eliminated teams, don't agree with locking losers' bracket teams but that's just personal preference.
I do agree with the idea that the Commissioner should have a tool with the option to lock just eliminated teams or eliminated teams and all teams in the loser bracket.
The more options for league customization only will make the Yahoo experience better. -

Eliminate all consolation games, yahoo. These games are worthless and no one pays attention once they are eliminated from the playoffs.

In private leagues, the commish can lock any team at any time to prevent this from happening. In public leagues, teams are locked only after they've reached the point of having no more games to play.

There is a setting to lock teams that are eliminated from playoffs from making any moves. Teams in consolation games should also be locked.
