Welcome to the new Yahoo Mail Desktop experience! This is a place for you to help shape the redesign. We review the most popular, feasible ideas from this forum to make positive changes to your Yahoo Mail.

Unfortunately, you cannot revert back. We are only making the new one better. We know change is frustrating and hard but we really hope you'll give the new layout a fair chance.



WHAT'S NEW:
Calendar - We moved it from under "More" on the right hand side to it's own icon. Still on the right hand side, but it's now the first icon next to Starred and Contacts.

TIPS:
Disable Inbox Categories (All, Primary, etc) - You can go back to having just ONE Inbox. Go to Settings > Inbox Categories.
Keep Folders Expanded - First expand left hand column by hovering on Inbox edge until you see Double Arrows. Then a drop down will show up next to Folders.
Bulk Delete - Click on a checkbox from your Inbox and a new checkbox will appear at the top. From there you can Select All and Delete All.
Sender's Email Address - You don't have to open the message to see the sender's email address. Just hover over the sender's name from your Inbox.
Sort By Sender - This is still a sorting option, but you must disable Conversation view under your Settings. Then you will see "Sender name"
Disable AI Summaries - Go to Settings > AI features > Toggle Off
Unread Count - You can hover over "Inbox" to see the Unread count or you can expand the left hand column and Unread will be in the column below Inbox with the unread count. No hovering.

  1. Problems with searching

    I really hate the new "Yahoo! It is NOT user friendly at all. For example, if you want to search only one folder- like your InBox - you can't do that any more. I have many folders and don't want to search all of them. I want to search just the folder i need. To search them all is a total waste of my time.
    If this feature is still there, where the **** did you hide it???This new format totally SUCKS!

    There are many other changes you made that are not user friendly!!! You really got way too carried…

  3. Make the preview pane useful like it used to be

    In the preview pane, the "heading" for the email (where the sender's name is along with the giant "Visit Site" and "Summarize" buttons are) is so big now that it leaves hardly any space for the actual PREVIEW. It's stupid small. I have used Yahoo Mail for over 20 years and this new look is anything but an upgrade or improvement! Might finally be time to move on.

  4. DISPLAY THE DATE THAT AN EMAIL MESSAGE IS REC'D ?

    HELLO , I AM A BLING=D MAIL PLUS SUBSCRIBER AND IS IT POSSIBLE TO DISPLAY THE DATES SIMILAR TO THE OTHER FORMAT ? BEING ABLE TO IMMEDIATELT SEE THE MESSAGES DATES WILL HELP ME A LOT. DOING THAT WILL REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF TIME I NEED TO CHECK MESSAGES . I HAVE TO USE DIGITAL MAGNIFICATION TO READ AND RYR-STRAIN IS ROUGH. SEEING ANYTHING IS DIFFICULT FOR ME.   7. Return the ability to preview photos by hovering over emails

    I used to be able to hover over emails and see a popup preview of the photos attached to the email. Now it pops up controls to delete, move, .... The ability to quickly scan the photos in emails is very useful for my business. I've relied on it for years to quickly find customer information. Your change is not an improvement. It makes finding vital information impossible.

  8. The email address, subject and date.

    The menu items on the far right are not sized properly. The items displayed are only four, taking up space that could be used to set the size of the addressee, subject, and date to display more info. to the email user.
    Why isn't the rectangle set "Horizontally"? Duh, and why can't users set the size, and orientation of the rectangles in this new 'feature' display?
    Plus, the choice of display schema is very distracting from the previous view!

  9. Return the ability to search by picture.

    The ability to search by picture was very valuable. By removing it you have crippled my ability to quickly find emails that customers sent me in the past about their furniture. I can't understand how removing a beautiful feature could be considered "improvement".

  10. ONLY show the number of current UNREAD email listed still in the INBOX.

    Please separate all Unread emails into the catagory in which I have placed them. Whether opened or not.

  11. i'm going to have a stroke with all that BOLD TEXT it is super counter productive

    please make it stop please please go back to the gentler, less violent UNBOLD text that doesn't feel like it's punching you in the face. i can't concentrate with all the bold. and the senders icons is soooo distracting i'm begging you

  12. I want the inbox messages to go all the way across the screen.

    I realize I can hit the double arrows and get what I want, but I don't want to do that every time. Please just have a setting that will leave it like I prefer when I come back to it the next time. I don't want to see starred messages, contacts or anything else on my screen. That's why I'm at the INBOX.

  13. You have stripped away the option to block all senders in spam

    SO NOW THE ONLY WAY IS TO OPEN UP EACH MESSAGE AND INDIVIDUALLY BLOCK EACH EMAIL ADDRESS ONE BY ONE - HOW ON EARTH IS THIS AN IMPROVEMENT? - ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!!!!!!!

  16. Enlarge Reading Area to what it was before.

    The indivigual email letter area itself is to small to read.
    There is only an inch of space left to read an email in windows.
    This is makes it difficult to navigate to read an indivigual email letter in windows.
    I depend on my laptop to read email letters because smart phones are very difficult to read email from.
    There is unused space above that can be reformated smaller to allow more for reading area for indivigual emails or you could go back to a previous email.

  17. Why can't I open emails in another window???

    new 'cutesy' garbage has taken away option to open multiple emails in different tabs or windows. What if I want to compare emails from different senders and different times? I WAS trying to open tabs for multiple auctions I won for similar items. Of course, this new mess removes that option, makes actually reading an email harder, and navigation a complete mess. STOP trying to be 'cutesy' and return this mess to something slightly usable. This is awful.

  18. Divide inbox by weeks and years

    Please go back to dividing emails in the inbox by "Last week," "Earlier," etc, and by year if applicable. It's more manageable than having everything in one long string of emails in the inbox.

    Wow!!! The stupidity of the person(s) who felt this new app was a good idea is absolutely astounding!!! This is poorly conceived and horribly executed. I'll decide what my primary mail is- NOT YOU!! This is a significant downgrade and yet another prime example of people overthinking and fixing that which is not broken. I hope you quickly realize how badly you screwed up and revert back to what you had prior

    I am unable to see the full email address of the sender when the email is too long. This is very convenient for scammers to scam users with a long email that looks like official emails
