Welcome to the new Yahoo Mail Desktop experience! This is a place for you to help shape the redesign. We review the most popular, feasible ideas from this forum to make positive changes to your Yahoo Mail.

Unfortunately, you cannot revert back. We are only making the new one better. We know change is frustrating and hard but we really hope you'll give the new layout a fair chance.


WHAT'S NEW:
Calendar - We moved it from under "More" on the right hand side to it's own icon. Still on the right hand side, but it's now the first icon next to Starred and Contacts.

TIPS:
Disable Inbox Categories (All, Primary, etc) - You can go back to having just ONE Inbox. Go to Settings > Inbox Categories.
Keep Folders Expanded - First expand left hand column by hovering on Inbox edge until you see Double Arrows. Then a drop down will show up next to Folders.
Bulk Delete - Click on a checkbox from your Inbox and a new checkbox will appear at the top. From there you can Select All and Delete All.
Sender's Email Address - You don't have to open the message to see the sender's email address. Just hover over the sender's name from your Inbox.
Sort By Sender - This is still a sorting option, but you must disable Conversation view under your Settings. Then you will see "Sender name"
Disable AI Summaries - Go to Settings > AI features > Toggle Off
Unread Count - You can hover over "Inbox" to see the Unread count or you can expand the left hand column and Unread will be in the column below Inbox with the unread count. No hovering.

  1. "Block senders" shortcut has disappeared from the toolbar on your updated interface

    What has happened to the "Block senders" shortcut ? It has disappeared from the toolbar on your updated interface ! Please put it back.

  2. allow for reorder of sidebars

    Current locking of reordering is ******* stupid. Yahoo mail has become ****.

  3. Create Filters Easily from Inbox

    Before this awful "new Yahoo mail", it was easy to create filters from the inbox. Now you have to go into settings and type in a million fields to create one. Please bring back the method to create a filter from an email in the inbox.

  4. Ads

    It's difficult but manageable! The ad line is now on thre second row, which makes people click on it by mistake! Not easy but so far I have managed to avoid clicking on ads! What's next?

  5. multiple email accounts displayed on the top left hand side

    I have multiple emails and it was so easy before to be able to toggle back and forth. Now it is a process to switch every time. Please make this easier- like the way it used to be!!

  6. Show accounts on the side and all folders....

    Or even better would be if we revert back to the old UI instead of this obnoxious new interface that hides half the features under dropdowns. I do not even see what "new" mail added besides the dumb little icons for senders and longer load times on emails.

    Huge miss from Yahoo. your users are not here for innovative design. the only reason people still use yahoo is because of its familiar interface.

  7. Fix the new email !!!

    New emails are appearing in the "sent" folder!
    Why would this EVER happen??????

    Previously the new messages appeared at the top....now they appear at the bottom! WHY????

  8. Input screen size

    You set the bloody page too large. It does not fit my screen Why do you have to change the **** all the time? I have to use the smallest character setting and even this way the page is too large. I need magifyer to red it. The top email identification comes down to the middle of the scree and I can't pus it up. Are employing EDI employees? Smarten up!

  9. Do NOT put ads in the middle of my mail feed

  10. Block Multiple Users In Spam Box

    In the spam box, in the old email ui, i was able to select all the emails and block all the email addresses in one click. now, that option is missing from the mailbox and within the individual emails themselves. That option needs to be brought back. I have a very old email address that has been stolen and sold probably thousands of times by now. i do not have the time to copy every single email address the manually add them to my block list that i have to navigate to through my settings. not sure why that ability…

  11. Accidental click is all you can get

    NO ONE has ever seen an ad and clicked on it on purpose. I can't wait to switch my email to a different dot com because you are out of control with this garbage.

  12. Show all email addresses

    With the old Yahoo email I could see at a glance whether any of my four email addresses had unread messages.

    The new Yahoo mail only shows one email address at a time and I have to move the mouse cursor over the current email address to pull up a menu to see the other addresses. Even when I do pull up the menu it doesn't show which email addresses have unread messages. This is a real step backward for the user interface.

    The currently selected email address is also in a bad location at the bottom of the window.…

    Kindly finally return the option to sort mails by Subject. Alphabetically.
    And please, give me the option to hide the side bar on the right.

  14. Re-establish allowing email delete without clicking

    Prior to new rollout, one could delete an email with the email simply highlighted, without having to click the box, then delete. Could you bring back the delete "garbage can" to the viewing menu?

  15. WHY THE **** IS IT SO HARD TO SWITCH ACCOUNT MAILBOXES NOW???

    Seriously? Before it was highlight your damned profile icon, then click the other account that showed up. Now it's forced under must click icon, scroll down, click swap, click next bloody account. WHY????? There's a reason people don't use windows 11, and you've just gone and taken one of the most used things by people who have more than one mailbox and added extra steps, and on top of that forced to do security each time already!

  16. improve the contrast and visual appearance to make it more legible, decrease the percentag of screen area dominated by ads

    improve the contrast from light grey text on an off-white background and the actual text font to make it legible - this is very difficult to see and read.

    with the entire right half of the screen ad banner and the ad banner across the top it really leaves no room for actually reading emails

  18. checkboxes too sensitive

    When I click a bunch of emails to delete if I am not exactly on a box the next click turns them all off frustrating.

  19. Calendar Icon

    Why do I have to click on more and then click on calendar? So, your new design has me making more clicks not less. UGH! Put a calendar icon next to the settings Icon.

  20. Restore the option to go back to the old Yahoo

    See the header. Please respect people's choices.

    The new Yahoo is unusable for me. The new format uses too much memory and slows my system down too much. And I don't want infinite scrolling. I want the inbox to have pages with 50 messages each like before. I just want simple email.

    Please respect your users and give a choice on whether to use the new or old format, as Gmail does. Otherwise, I am moving my base to my Gmail account.

    Hi there, we wanted to check in with you especially with your feedback specifically on your laptop or browser running too slow with the new Yahoo Mail (desktop). Are you still having issues with performance? Not the functionality or the design in general, but we wondering about your software or computer. Upgrading your browser, does that help?
