WHAT'S NEW?
Search by Sender - Just hover over the sender's profile image and a spyglass icon will appear where you can search all emails by that sender.
Multi-Tasking Tabs - Like before, open an email in a new tab.
AI Summaries - Ability to disable. Go to Settings > AI Features > Toggle Off
Number of Total Messages - Hover over the Inbox Icon and you will see both total number of messages and unread.
Sender's Email Address - You don't have to open the message to see the sender's email address. Just hover over the sender's name from your Inbox.

Differentiate Unread v. Read - Better ways to see the difference.
Resize Images - Resize an image within the message.
Inbox Categories - Default to "All" category instead of always Priority.
Right Hand Column - Ability to minimize: Contacts, Starred, More (Currently for Yahoo Mail Plus subscribers)


TIPS:
Inbox Categories - You can go back to having just ONE Inbox. Go to Settings > Personalize Inbox.
Keep Folders Expanded - First expand left hand column by hovering on Inbox edge until you see Double Arrows. Then a drop down will show up next to Folders.
Bulk Delete - Click on a checkbox from your Inbox and a new checkbox will appear at the top. From there you can Select All and Delete All.
Sender's Email Address - You don't have to open the message to see the sender's email address. Just hover over the sender's name from your Inbox.
Dark Mode - Go to Settings > Appearance.

  4. Ads steal cursor away from what I was doing

    I am using Windows 10, 148.0.7778.168 (Official Build) (64-bit). As of 5/13/2026, anytime the right side ad banner rotates to a new ad, it takes my cursor from any other part of the window it was in. This is especially frustrating when I am writing, and every 40-70 seconds, my cursor is moved to the right side, and my up/down arrow keys show it was hijacked by the refreshed ad. My browser has no extensions or ad blockers. I sometimes use other browsers that do have ad blockers, but it seems functionality is an ongoing problem for me in Yahoo…

  5. Email blocking by pattern

    • Add pattern matching to the blocking rules
    • possibility to test against
      • from address
      • reply to address
      • (sending service domain?)
      • (other headers?)
      • subject
      • body

    Example patterns
    @,
    *.scammer.com, *.scammer.com.
    casino
    lottery
    spin

    The first I have seen recently. The second would block most spammers. The rest are typical words in a casino spam.

    instead of 'info_info@wfuv.mayantial.jp.bloom-blush.com.borrock.co'
    boom-blush.com., or borrock.com, or *mayantial.jp.

    I guess this sender is the same as 'info_info@wfuv.mayantial.jp.bloom-blush.com.yamament.com' As we can see, the mayamtial.jp and bloom-blush.com are the same, but the last part of the domain has been changed.

    Stop ads I never had ads before you updated to buying storage. My wife and I always used yahoo for years. We are now elderely and feel this is just money grabbing

  8. Calendar problems

    Urgent problem - I am long time user of Yahoo Calendar which I use on an Android phone. Within the past 24 hours, I've noticed that I am not able to add new events because there isn't a way to select the time of the event (I can send you a screen shot if you allow me to send an attachment). Note that selecting the date is possible, but not the time. Further, the calendar works on my desktop. Additionally, I have tried using the Yahoo Mail app. I see your Planner, but I don't see a way to add…

  10. Improving the feedback system

    Some hopefully helpful advises to the feedback system (see also other issue handling systems like bugzilla, github's issues, stackoverflow.com):

    • require people to log in to give feedback. (I guess some of the angry feedback will "disappear" by doing so.)
    • filtering on status: Add an option to filter on the status of the case. open/closed/in progress/appropriateness etc and product: web/app etc.
    • duplication: add an option to indicate duplication of issues. (Maybe also an AI-bot could help you there.)
    • keep voting open until the case is closed (one vote per user?).
    • add a commenting feature so that more information can be added…

  13. Allow user to hide the tick box in front of each email

    Hi there, I noticed from the desktop mailbox now the tick box is showing at the beginning of each email. I couldn't find how to hide it and it is distractive while I am browsing my inbox. Can you please advise? The same issue happend to me last year and I received an email from Yahoo advising this change, and I replied that email and advised I wouldn like to be opted out of this change so it changed back.   16. How can you improve the New Yahoo Mail? Like this: let me go to the old view.

    That's unfaire and very client unfriendly to eliminate (or hide deep underground?) the possibility to switch to the old view. I hate the New Yahoo Mail, but cannot switch to the old one. This possibility is eliminated. Very bad of Yahoo.

  20. Auto Direct Incoming Email to Specific Folders

    You have taken away the feature to auto direct to a specific folder.. When I right click on a new message to set it up for auto direct I no longer get an option to name the folder. My choices are only PRIMARY, OFFERS, SOCIAL, NEWSLETTER. that's it. I can no longer direct emails without reading them to a specific folder. There's no add filter anymore.
