More "Waiver Processing Times" Options (Fix TNF issues)
Our league settings are as follows:
Waiver Time: 1 day (lowest setting that still uses waivers)
Waiver Type: Continual rolling list
Weekly Waivers: Game Time - Tuesday
As far as I'm aware, these settings are extremely common for leagues that use a waiver wire system. Our league likes this system because it keeps things fair amongst our league and gives everyone adequate time to fit fantasy into their life schedules instead of the other way around.
There's a major issue though that I've encountered for years. TNF players that are dropped during the weekly waiver wire process are NOT AVAILABLE for anyone to pick up.
This is because the waiver wire processes on Wednesday morning (around 3am or 3:30am EST). So if a player is dropped at that time, he has to be on the wire for a full 24 hours before he can be picked up on the NEXT waiver roll. This means that all players dropped during the waiver wire roll are first available on Friday morning. If a player plays in TNF, then they are completely unavailable until the following week.
Here are 3 ideas to fix this (in the order that I think are the easiest to implement and make the best solution):
1) Please give us a 12hr or 18hr waiver option. Instead of the full 24hrs (which often turns into near 48 real-life-hours), this would allow players dropped early in the morning to be picked up off waivers the next morning.
2) Designate or treat all players dropped "during the waiver processing period" as dropped on Tuesday, not Wednesday. Waiver decisions are due Tuesday night, so it makes more sense to work this way anyways. Then, based on the 24hr rule, they'll come off waivers on Thursday instead of Friday.
3) Make an exception for TNF players that they will always come off waivers on Thursday morning. This one involves the most ticky-tack conditionals.
Thanks for your feedback.
We have gotten your suggestions to our product team.
Please note, in a Private League, a commissioner can use their commish tools to change the waiver date for a player dropped to waivers. So if a team does drop a player on Wednesday and they play Thursday, the commish can edit the waiver date for that specific player to come off waivers on Thursday to be able to be used for that week or add prior to their game.

More Waiver Options:
Similar things have been requested but the main issue with GameTime - Tuesday is that news breaks all week long. Even before Covid, key injury updates occur on Thursday or Friday afternoon which opens the door for Twitter-hawks to pounce on key adds all year long and avoid the fair bidding process on these players. With Covid, these have ramped up even more. I like having free agency exist for freedom of transactions, but would like that to only be either Sunday (say 3AM EST SUN - Gametime) or Saturday & Sunday. Either of the below would be a vast improvement that would prevent first-come first-served internet hawkers from profiting through the year.
1) Waivers could run:
Tuesday overnight, Wed overnight, Thurs overnight, Fri overnight - then Free Agency from Sat AM until gametime
2) Waivers could run Wednesday overnight, Saturday overnight - then Free Agency from Sun AM until gametimes.
This would be a massive improvement on the current options and seems like it isn't a dramatic Y! systematic change as Waivers + FA already exists on the Gametime-Tues. Expanding the waivers a bit further makes things much more fair to those who aren't able to constantly refresh the news cycle.
